We all want to raise responsible, respectful, and successful children, but sometimes it’s difficult to know how to do that, or it seems that none of our methods are working. Parenting raises a lot of questions. How can we avoid raising children who feel they can never quite measure up? How does rescuing our children from the consequences of their choices and behaviors undermine discipline? What roles, if any, do negotiation and compromise play in discipline? Show we require our kids to do chores, and how do we do that? This three-session course will explore these practical, crucial questions.
Grace Place’s first parenting seminar will be held over three Thursdays in February (February 11, February 18, and February 25) from 6:15 until 7:30. Moderators from the church and the preschool community will be guided by a “Christian Parenting Today” curriculum, covering topics relevant to parents with children from ages 0 to 10, including discipline, setting expectations, responsibility, instilling respect, and teaching responsibility.
Children (ages 0 to 10) are invited to attend a special family-oriented bible class created just for them to be held in the nursery and preschool rooms. There will be crafts and activities designed to teach them about their roles within their families.
There is no cost to attend the class, but attendees should bring a baby item (diapers, wipes, formula, etc.) to donate to the Grace Sharing and Caring Program.
