Milton Rodgers III   is the Minister of Music and Organist at Grace United Methodist Church, Manassas,  VA and as such administrates a 16-Choir system and a monthly concert series.  Having received his Masters and Bachelors of Church Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, Mr. Rodgers was invited to do post-graduate work at the Westfalishce Landeskirchenmusikschule in Germany.  In Northern Virginia, he sits on the board of the the NOVA-Manassas Symphony Orchestra, a He is very active with the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and as taught several handbell seminars.  He is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association and regularly reviews anthems for Worship Arts, the publication of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.  He is also a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and as such, votes for the Grammy Awards. He is also Choral Assistant as Osbourn High School.

Lynn Jost  is the Director of The Wesley Singers, the mixed-voice youth choir of Grace UMC. Lynn also conducts the adult female singing choir, The Treble Ensemble, and she serves as a music assistant and piano accompanist at Grace.  Lynn graduated from Virginia Tech with a BA in Communications. At VT, Lynn was a featured soloist and dancer with the performance group called The New Virginians.  Lynn is very active in the Northern Virginia region as a performer, piano accompanist and music director. She enjoys working with youth and has served as the rehearsal pianist and vocal coach for two American Music Stage productions (“Grease” and “Guys and Dolls”) at George Mason University.  An active member of the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association),  Lynn has also co-produced and recorded a children’s album entitled “Hoodle Dang Dang!”™ , which features nostalgic children’s songs.

Lisa Mitchell Galoci is the organist at Grace United Methodist Church and accompanist for three of the church's musical ensembles:  The Chancel Choir, the Wesley Singers and the Treble Ensemble.  Ms. Galoci has served as organist choirmaster at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. and as organist for McLean Baptist Church in McLean, Virginia, Grace Episcopal Church in Silver Spring, Maryland and Wesley United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.  Ms. Galoci began private organ studies in 1982 with William Neil of the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Presbyterian Church.  She has studied further with Corliss R. Arnold, James Kibbie, Leonard Raver and Eric Suter.  She has performed locally with other solo instrumentalist and ensembles at the National Presbyterian Church, the National Cathedral, Cherrydale United Methodist Church and Washington Street United Methodist Church. She has also taught piano and organ privately.

Jason Wilsher is our Contemporary Worship Leader.  Part of Jason's duties include leading "SonRise".  SonRise is our praise band for the Sunday evening @ 6 worship service.  Jason has been leading the band since its inception in 2003. He very much enjoys writing lyrics and has assisted in writing many SonRise original songs.  Jason is a Manassas native graduating from Osbourn High School and earning a business degree from Virginia Tech.

music34.gifThe Mission of the Music program at Grace United Methodist Church is to glorify God and inspire faith through the presentation of a wide variety of musical styles, vocal and instrumental, that encourage the offering of our best efforts while promoting the participation of persons of all ages. 
There are 16 choirs and ensembles for you and your family to join. Find your place in the Grace Church Music Program and praise God through the gift of music!!! For most choirs you do not need to be able to read music. Just come out and be a part of our fellowship!
Since Grace Church is in the City of Manassas, holiday rehearsal cancellations basically follow the Manassas City School system. 
If there is no school, there is no choir.
Rehearsal cancellations due to inclement weather also follow the Manassas City School system.

The Wesley Singers PDF Print E-mail
The Wesley Singers are comprised of youth in grades six through twelve from Grace. The choir is an SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) mixed voice group. The singers lead worship twice a month, as well as at special services throughout the year, and they perform two concerts during the season. The choir dresses in concert attire for performances.The Wesley Singers enjoy taking their music ministry “on the road” where they can share their musical gifts and fellowship with others.

Singing Choirs:

For Adults:

  1. Chancel Choir, Wednesdays, 7:30-9:15 p.m. (Directed by Milton Rodgers) * The Chancel Choir is the main vocal ensemble of Grace Church and sings for the 11:00 service on the 1st, 4th and 5th Sundays, and the 8:30 service on the 2nd Sundays.  This choir also participates in most special services, such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Holy Thursday, and also sings at least one larger work each year.  Music reading experience is not required to join the choir.
  2. Grace Treble Ensemble, Sundays, 6:30-7:45 p.m.(Directed by Lynn Jost) * This group is for female singers who read music and who want a smaller group experience.  The Treble Ensemble sings at both the 8:30 and 11:00 services on the 3rd Sundays and often participates in holiday services.

For Youth:

  1. Wesley Singers, Grades 6-12, Sundays, 4:45-6:00 p.m.(Directed by Lynn Jost) * This is the youth vocal choir of Grace Church and typically sings for the 11:00 service on 2nd Sundays, and for the 8:30 service on the 4th Sundays.  No music reading experience is required.  This choir often sings in the community and goes on a tour each summer.

For Children:

  1. Asbury Choir, Grades 3-5, Mondays, 5:15-6:00 pm. (Directed by Milton Rodgers & Lynn Jost) * This choir sings at varying worship services and at Christmas.  They participate in the Choristers' Guild festival every other year and join with the Asbury Singers to present a spring musical during worship service.
  2. Asbury Singers, Grades 1-2, Mondays, 6:00-6:30 p.m (Directed by Milton Rodgers & Lynn Jost) * This choir sings at varying worship services and at Christmas.  They join with the Asbury Chorus to present a spring musical during worship services.
  3. Joyful Singers, Four year olds-Kindergarten, Mondays, 5:15-6:00 p.m. (Directed by Julie Vetal, Wanda Vancampen and Amy Vancampen) * This choir sings at the 11:00 service an the third Sunday of the month of the school year.

Praise Bands

For Adults:

  1. SonRise, Tuesdays, 7:30-10:00 p.m. (Led by Jason Wilsher) * This is Grace's contemporary adult Christian music ensemble for both singers and instrumentalist.  This praise band provides music for Grace's evening worship service each Sunday.  They are open to all interested adult singers and to instrumentalist who play at an intermediate level, especially guitar, wind, or brass instruments.

For Youth:

  1. Got Hymn, Sundays, 12-2:00 p.m. (Directed by Rick Ellis) * This is Grace's contemporary youth Christian music ensemble for both singers and instrumentalists.  This praise band provides music for Youth Group Services and other church events.

Ringing Choirs

For Adults:

  1. Parrish Bells, Sundays, 7:45-9:15 p.m. (Directed by Milton Rodgers) * This is the advanced handbell choir of Grace Church.  Music reading is a prerequisite.  This choir typically rings at the 8:30 and 11:00 services on the 3rd Sundays and also participates in some special services.  They participate in handbell festivals, have toured in Germany twice, and were one of the founding choirs of Northern Viginia Handbell Festival.
  2. Grace GosBells, Mondays, 7:30-9:00 p.m. (Directed by Diana Rybinsky) * This is the intermediate/beginner handbell choir of Grace Church.  Music reading is helpful but not a prerequisite.  This choir usually rings at the 8:30 and 11:00 services on 4th Sundays.  They often participate in the Area III Adult Handbell Festival in Ocean City, MD.  They welcome participants of all ages, including youth in grades 6-12.
  3. Chimers, Monday, 10:30--11:00 a.m. (Led by Milton Rodgers) * This is a ministry-oriented chime choir that visits various older adult facilites on Mondays during the school year to lead a time of singing with the residents.  No music reading experience is required. 

For Children: 

  1. Asbury Ringers, Grades 3-5, Mondays, 6:00-6:30 p.m. (Directed by Rhys Tucker, Molly Levine, Katie Finnie, Sarah  Scott  and Michael Rybinsky.  This choir rings about once every other month in worship.
  2. Asbury Chimers, Grades 1-2, Mondays, 5:15-6:00 p.m. (Directed by Rhys Tucker, Molly Levine, Katie Finnie, Sarah Scott, and Michael Rybinsky) * This choir rings about every other month in worship.

Instrumental Ensembles

For Youth and Adults:

  1. Grace Brass Ensemble, Thursdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m. (Directed by Gary Spanik) * This Brass Ensemble is open to any brass player 7th grade through adult.  They play occasionally for the morning worship services and for other festive worship services.
  2. Grace String Ensemble, Mondays, 7:30-9:00 p.m., (Directed by Dee Notto) * This string ensemble is open to every Grace member.  They play occasionally for morning worship services and for other special worship services.
