FAQs About Visiting Grace
Worship services are at 9am and 11am, with the 9am and 11am services also live-streamed and recorded. At 9am, the Thrive Music Team leads music with a more contemporary feel and the pastors lead in a more casual style. The 11am service includes traditional music from the organ, piano and Grace Music Groups. Pastors wear robes and typically preach from the pulpit.
Grace is located in the city of Manassas, VA. Our address is 9750 Wellington Road and the building is located at the corner of Hendley and Wellington Roads. Parking is available in two lots outside of the church building. Park in the upper lot for easy access to the sanctuary and the lower lot for easy access to the Fellowship Hall and classrooms. Accessible parking and curb cuts in the sidewalks are available in both locations, with accessible door openers at the main doors.
Wear whatever you are comfortable with. You’ll see some people in suit and tie on Sunday mornings and some people in jeans and a t-shirt.
This is called “Engagement Hour” and it’s the time when adult, youth and children Sunday School classes meet. There is also a mission project open for anyone to join, or extended coffee hour outside of the sanctuary for those who just want some time to themselves or to chat with a friend.
The Grace Nursery is available from 9am to 12pm every Sunday, including the 10am Engagement Hour, for children under 3 years old. Look for a member of the Welcome team (they’ll be wearing special yellow tags) if you need assistance. Children are welcome in all worship services. At both 9am and 11am, preschool-5th graders are invited to come to “Pop-Out Church” after the Children’s Moment. Pop-Out Church is when children leave the sanctuary but continue their worship (which is generally the same Bible verse as the sermon) in ways that are designed especially for children. Ms. Anna Burrell, Children’s Ministry Director, leads Pop-Out Church. The children return to the sanctuary before the service is over. At 10am, children are invited to go to UpStreet Sunday School. 6-8 graders and 9-12 graders have Sunday School in the Generations Room.
We strive to make sure all feel welcome at Grace and are able to worship in a way that works for them and their individual needs. Please visit our Accessibility & Inclusion Ministry page to learn about available accommodations and how to receive support for any special needs.
Visit the About page to read about Grace’s Mission and Values. You are also welcome to contact the church office anytime at 703-361-7800 or office@umcgrace.org. In addition, the Pastors hold a Church Chat on the first Sunday of the month where you can join a casual conversation about what is going on at Grace and ask questions you have.
