Rudy Tucker - Pastor

Pastor Rudy Tucker and his family came to Grace UMC in July 2001, having served other United Methodist churches in Vienna, Virginia Beach, Verona, and Newport News. A native of Virginia, Pastor Rudy was graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1975 and Duke Divinity School in 1980. When not involved in church life, he enjoys traveling with family, playing golf, and working out in the yard. He is married to Alicia, currently a faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College, and they are the proud parents of two boys, Peyton and Rhys.

Janet Salbert - Pastor

Pastor Janet has served churches in Northern Va since 2002, coming to Grace UMC in July of 2014. She is a registered nurse and a pastor,  graduating from the University of Vermont nursing school in 1980 and completing her seminary education at Wesley Theological Seminary in 2006. She was ordained in the Virginia Conference in 2009. Janet is passionate about nurturing and strengthening our inner spiritual life for sustaining our outward mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of  the world. Janet has four adult sons, Eric, Ives, Jay and Daniel. Eric married Mystie in 2013, expanding their family love in special ways. Janet grew up in white mountains of NH and loves to hike and ski. She enjoys traveling and exploring the art world.

C. Milton Rodgers - Minister of Music and Organist

Rev. C. Milton Rodgers III is an ordained Deacon in the Virginia Conference and has served at Grace UMC since 1992. Rev. Milton coordinates the fifteen musical groups who offer their gifts at Grace as well as concerts and musical programs throughout the year. Having received his Masters and Bachelors of Church Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, he was invited to do post-graduate work at the Westfalishce Landeskirchenmusikschule in Germany. In Northern Virginia, he sits on the board of the NOVA-Manassas Symphony Orchestra. He is very active with the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and has taught several handbell seminars. He is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association and regularly reviews anthems for Worship Arts, the publication of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. He is also a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and as such, votes for the Grammy Awards. He is also Choral Assistant as Osbourn High School.

Lynn Jost - Music Associate

Lynn is excited to work with singers of all ages in the dynamic music ministry at Grace UMC. Lynn serves as the director of three choral groups: The Wesley Singers mixed voice youth choir, the Treble Ensemble adult female ensemble, and The Grace Notes a Capella choir. She also serves as a music assistant and piano accompanist. Lynn is a Choral Accompanist/Assistant for the Manassas City Osbourn High School choral department. She is very active in the Northern Virginia region as a performer, piano accompanist, music director, and member of the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association).

Jason Wilsher - Contemporary Worship Leader

Jason coordinates the Sunday Evenings @ Grace worship service that meets Sundays at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary. He has led the SonRise band since its inception in 2003. He very much enjoys writing lyrics and has assisted in writing many SonRise original songs. Jason is a Manassas native, having graduated from Osbourn High School and earned a business degree from Virginia Tech.

Darlene Runaldue - Director of Community Connections

Darlene began her new position in January of 2016 after having served in Christian Education and as Program Director.  She maintains her certification in Christian Education by the Virginia Conference of the UMC, is a trained Stephen Ministry Leader, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Religion from the University of Mary Washington.  She has two adult children, Kristen and Nathan, one beautiful grandbaby, Kayla, and two grandpuppies, Ernie and Denver.  She is also the owner of an Old Town, Manassas Fair Trade business—Scatter Seeds, named after the Parable of the Sower, where she continues to make connections between the Manassas community and Grace UMC.

Debbie Cali - Director of Student Ministries

Debbie is passionate about connecting with young people where they are to help them explore their spiritual journey while developing a relationship with Jesus Christ. God calls us to action and Debbie helps provide opportunities to serve God and HIS kingdom, locally, nationally and internationally through missions.  She is originally from New Orleans and loves football season. She is the mother of two teenagers and wife to a wonderful man that embraces her passion for youth ministry.

Arleen Field - Director of Children’s Ministries

Arleen is a former preschool teacher and has been involved with children’s ministries for over 20 years. Arleen brings passion, deep faith and creativity to her ministry, and Grace is excited for all that she has brought to the church’s ministry to young children. Arleen and her husband Lenny have three children: Jessica and her husband Ryan, Bryan and Steven.

Page Meador - Children's Ministry Assistant

Page, a Virginia native, has been a member of Grace UMC since 2010. She attended James Madison University, where she obtained Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees, and completed a doctorate from University of Florida. Page has been an active volunteer at Grace through various ministries, including Hospitality and Vacation Bible School. She is married to Dan, a current Lay Leader at Grace, and together they have one son, Leighton.

Susan Bardwell - Director of Grace Children’s Learning Center

“Ms. Susan” brings a BA in Early Childhood Education, a MA in Child Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology to her work, as well as over 30 years’ experience in the preschool and early Elementary grades. She and her husband Steve live in Stafford, and have one adult son, Brian, and two grandchildren. Her numerous and varied interests include camping, riding four-wheelers, Disney World, gardening, playing Bunco, painting, cooking, working with at-risk children, spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, reading, boating, swimming or doing anything near and in water, teaching Sunday School and studying architecture and art. Ms. Susan’s door is always open, and she “wants to hear the good, the bad and the ugly” to the end of continuing to build one of the most well-respected preschool ministries in the area.


Denise 

Denise Childers- Director of Senior Adult Minstries

 A recently retired elder in the Virginia Annual Conference, Denise is glad to be "back" at Grace, having served here as one of the pastors from 2001 through 2007. Her role as Director of Senior Adult Ministries provides a unique opportunity to provide leadership and to serve alongside older adults (55 and above) in the congregation and community, seeking to provide opportunities for discipleship, fellowship, service, and learning. Denise is maried to Clayton Childers who is also United Methodist clergy and serves at the General Board of Church and Society in Washington, DC. Their daughter Allison is married to Ben Scott, and they and their three beautiful children live nearby. Their daughter Carly is married to Harrison Moenich and they make their home in Richmond. Denise loves being a grandmother and is grateful to have settled in the Manassas community once again.


Brooks Beth

Beth Brooks - Church Administrator

Beth is the point of contact at the church for scheduling, publications, and church events, and she is a great resource for whatever questions you have about what's going on at Grace. Beth has a BS degree in Psychology from George Mason University and has spent over 25 years in the Early Childhood Education field. Her life outside of Grace includes walking, baking, attending musicals at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, volunteering for TOPSoccer (a local special needs soccer program), and relaxing at the family farm with her daughter.

Sandy Risko - Financial Manager

Sandy joined the Grace staff in 2003 and serves as the Membership and Financial Giving Coordinator.  She is a member of both the Building Expansion and Lighting the Way teams, and is excited about Grace's present and future.  Sandy and her husband John are members of the Growing Christians adult Sunday school class, and their boys, Ben and Alex, are active participants in the Youth Group and Wesley Singers.  Sandy graduated from the University of North Carolina with degrees in Economics and Russian & East European Studies, and holds a Master's degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University.  In her spare time (which is limited by carpooling and other domestic duties), Sandy loves to read and is part of two book clubs.

 Chris Dixon - Administrative Assistant

Chris has been a member of Grace UMC since 2006.  He graduated from Penn State University with a BA in History, holds a MS in Library & Information Science from Drexel University, and holds a Master’s of Public Policy from George Mason University.  Chris has been an active member of Grace UMC serving as lay leader, Sunday School teacher, and as a member of the Intentional Faith Development committee.  Chris and his wife Sabrina have three sons.

Matt Nelson - Facilities Coordinator

Matt has worked at Grace since the summer of 2004. He takes care of making sure that the building is maintained, safe, clean, and welcoming. He is key to making sure church spaces are prepared for the many groups that meet at Grace. Matt and his wife Tammy have three children, Stephanie, Jonathan, and Hannah. Matt is player/coach of one of Grace’s softball teams. Matt also enjoys participating in his family’s many hobbies and school functions.
