Student Ministries

Following is a letter to families from our Director of Student Ministries, Debbie Cali. In it you will find some helpful resources on how to talk to your student about race/racial inequality and Debbie’s contact info.

Dear Parents and Students,

On Sunday night (5/31/20), during youth group Zoom, there was a wide array of awareness and need to talk about what was going on in the US, our county and our city.   I strive to balance the students’ innocence with the need to address the situation.  I decided to ask if they felt there was racism at school.  It was a good discussion. They immediately acknowledged fear and equated it with bullying. Prayer, acknowledgement of the hurt and coping skills will help us through this time.

If you are looking for ways to talk to students or ideas on how to discuss things with friends, please contact me.  There are a lot of options and I can help you choose just the right thing for your family.  Generally, this article: “How to Talk to Kids about Racism, Protest, and Injustice” is an article to help you… Click HERE to read the full letter from Debbie.

Growing up is difficult and yet can be so much fun! Here at Grace we try to provide each student with a place to put their talents into use, while making friends and growing in their faith. We are excited about all the ways we can reach students in 6th grade thru 12th grade (considered YOUTH), college students and beyond (considered Young Adults). We have opportunities for all to become part of worship, mission, fellowship, intentional faith development and so much more, all while having fun doing it! Take a look:
