Youth Group Kick Off

For Youth in 6th – 12th Grade

Grace’s Youth Ministry provides a safe and nurturing environment for students (grades 6-12) to learn and grow in their Christian faith, make friends, experience mission opportunities, and so much more!

Sunday School for youth is offered on Sunday mornings during the 10am Engagement Hour. Youth are also invited to participate in weekly Youth Group activities, serve in leadership roles, and be a part of the wonderful music program at Grace!

An e-mail is sent out weekly to youth and their families. Feel free to contact Kara Neal, Director of Youth Ministries and Missions, to be added to the email list or for more info!

Please be sure to fill out a Registration form (one for each youth/once per school year) and review our Youth Ministry Rules & Expectations below. We’re looking forward to a fun year together!

Youth Mission Trip to Richmond, VA: July 19 – July 25, 2026

Students are invited to join us for an unforgettable Summer Mission Trip to Richmond, Virginia from July 19 – July 25! This trip is open to students who have completed 6th–12th grades and will be a meaningful week of service, growth, and community as we serve others and grow in our faith together.

Total cost for the trip is $550. Register no later than February 27 with a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot. If you sign up before February 15, Grace UMC will cover $100 of your trip cost. Scholarships are available, just contact Kara Neal, Director of Youth Ministries and Missions to discuss.

Youth Confirmation Class: January 25 – March 29, 2026

Don’t wait! Registration deadline is January 4, 2026

Youth Confirmation class is a time for exploring faith and growing deeper while having fun along the way. This class is for students in the 8th grade and above and their families.

Confirmation Class will meet weekly on Sundays at 10am at Grace UMC. More details about the weekly schedule will be made available after you officially register (see link below).

January 25 – Orientation
February 7 – District Confirmation Retreat at Grace UMC
April 11 – Rehearsal & Dinner
April 12 – Confirmation Sunday

Youth Retreat!

Our next Youth Retreat will be at Hunting Ridge Retreat Center in Winchester, VA from October 10-12.

We will leave at 6pm on October 10 from Grace and return on October 12 in time to worship together at the 11am service. The cost is $125 for meals, lodging, and supplies. Please RSVP no later than Friday, October 3.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or…

Youth Sunday School meets Sunday mornings (August – June) at 10am in the two Generations rooms. There are two classes – one for 6th -8th graders and one for 9th-12th graders. Youth Sunday School is a great place to come and learn and share joys and concerns of the week.

Youth Choir

Grace’s Youth Choir is called the Wesley Singers. Everyone in 6th-12th grade is welcome – the more the merrier! From those of you who have never sung in a choir, to those of you who sing in ALL the choirs – you have a place here!

Rehearsals are held on Sundays at 4:45pm in the Choir Room. Contact the church office (office@umcgrace.org/703-361-7800) for more info!
