Lenten Mission Project

Stop by and consider picking up a tag from the Lenten Cross, on display throughout Lent in the narthex/hallway at Grace.

In this partnership with House of Mercy, you’ll see a wooden cross with various tags on it which all include ways to help others this season: through service, prayer, and gifts. You can read more about this special Lenten Mission Project here.

Lenten Season 2024

Lent was originally a final 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and self-examination undergone by those planning to be baptized on Easter day. Over time this practice became a tradition of the whole church, to spend 40 days in intentional prayer, penitence, and focus on just what has occurred in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Ash Wednesday

The Christian season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday. This ancient tradition starts the 40 day season in prayer and repentance, with our eyes set on the story of our salvation which lies ahead of us.

Lenten Devotional

This year’s theme is “Overcoming Struggles,” with stories of how even in the midst of hardship, God was present. Devotions are written by members and friends of Grace.

The full devotional is available here on the website and as a printed copy at Grace.

You may also subscribe to receive the devotions daily via email below.
