About Grace Children’s Learning Center (GCLC)
Welcome to Grace Children’s Learning Center (GCLC), a vibrant ministry of Grace United Methodist Church. Here, our mission, programs, and unique offerings come together to nurture a love of learning and a strong sense of belonging in every child.
Through enriching experiences, we support each child’s cognitive, language, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical development—guiding them to know they are a child of God, to grow in confidence and compassion, and to develop both independence and connection with others.
Mission/Vision Statement
The mission of GCLC is to provide a safe, nurturing, quality learning environment that reflects the grace of God.
We view each child as a unique individual with needs and gifts to be recognized, respected and met. To reflect this, a “developmental” curriculum is provided within our loving and positive Christian environment where children and their families will:
- Be welcomed with radical hospitality
- Engage in passionate worship during chapel, JAM (Jesus and Me)
- Grow intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually
Programs
Each child is a unique person with individual needs to be recognized and met. Our nurturing staff strives to bridge the gap between home and school. Our programs are designed to provide each student with a sound foundation for future education experiences.
Our children flourish in our nurturing environment with “hands-on” activities and academic endeavors. Active learning, social, physical, cognitive and spiritual growths are the core goals of our programs.

Licensing
GCLC recently passed the state of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensing inspection. Passage of the inspection means that the ministry continues to operate effectively and efficiently to ensure that children are provided with high quality care and educational services by well-prepared educators in healthy and safe environments. It also means that we create effective partnerships with parents, and other stakeholders, to ensure that children are making progress toward achieving developmental milestones.
