Denise M. Childers will participate as one of the leaders.  You may come for yourself and/or to learn ways to assist others in your life who are walking the grief walk.  We will provide handouts to extend your opportunity to find healing and find people who can help during this journey.  Please feel free to contact Sylvia Bynum (703.216.8551) or Bev Williams (571-215-8413) for more information.

October 14: 150th Anniversary Historic Prayer Walk

In celebration of Grace’s 150th Anniversary,  the United Methodist Men are sponsoring a Historic Prayer Walk from Old Town Manassas to Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 14.  The walk will begin at 9:00 am at the corner of Main Street and Quarry Road, where the structure formerly known as Hixson Hall is located. This structure was first used in 1867 by the congregation that would eventually become Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, South.  From Hixson Hall, we will walk to the corner of Zebedee and Center Streets, where Grace built its first church (which is still standing).  Our walk will then take us to the corner of Main and Church Street, where the 2nd Grace Church was built (today used by the Bull Run Unitarian Universalist Congregation).  We will then conclude our walk following the route used by the Grace Congregation when they moved from Old Town to our current location in 1994.  During the walk, we will hear stories about our congregation’s faith journey tied to each site and also offer up prayers for  our Manassas Community.   Stay tuned for more information on this event, as we get closer to October 14.
