Rev. C. Milton Rodgers III is an ordained Deacon in the Virginia Conference and has served at Grace UMC since 1992. Rev. Milton coordinates the fifteen musical groups who offer their gifts at Grace as well as concerts and musical programs throughout the year. Having received his Masters and Bachelors of Church Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, he was invited to do post-graduate work at the Westfalishce Landeskirchenmusikschule in Germany. In Germany, he was a co-founder of the Wiedensahl handbell choir. In Northern Virginia, he sits on the board of the Manassas Symphony Orchestra. He is active with the Handbell Ringers of America and has taught several handbell seminars. He is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association and a member of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. He is also a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and as such, votes for the Grammy Awards. He is also Choral Assistant as Osbourn High School and has several piano and organ students.
Fun fact: Rev. Milton Rodgers’ cousin is the singer Judy Collins. He has been to hear her many times and has shared many family stories with her.
