Denise Childers

A retired elder in the Virginia Annual Conference, Denise is glad to be “back” at Grace, having served here as one of the pastors from 2001 through 2007. Her role as Director of Senior Adult Ministries provides a unique opportunity to provide leadership and to serve alongside older adults (55 and above) in the congregation and community, seeking to provide opportunities for discipleship, fellowship, service, and learning. Denise’s husband Clayton is a retired United Methodist clergy person as well. Their daughter Allison and her family live in the Manassas community. Their daughter Carly and her husband make their home in Richmond. Denise and Clayton are grateful to be connected to and to serve in the Manassas/Grace community once again.
Fun fact: When she was in middle school, Denise was a contestant in the Wisconsin state spelling bee held in Madison and represented a region of Southeastern Wisconsin! (You’ll have to ask her about her most-memorable word!)
